The charity has hired a new crisis and emergency response operations manager.
The British Red Cross has appointed Nicola Stove as its new crisis and emergency response operations manager in Scotland.
Nicola, who lives in Shetland with her husband and two teenage children, has spent the past 10 years with the British Red Cross in a range of different roles focused on health and resilience.
Most recently service manager for independent living across the North East and the Highlands and Islands, Nicola led the Covid-19 response in the north of Scotland.
Her work earned her a BEM in the New Year’s Honours List in 2020.
Nicola said: “I’m delighted to be appointed Crisis and Emergency Response Operations Manager for the British Red Cross in Scotland.
“Our team provides support to thousands of people on the ground in Scotland every year, whether it be individuals or families, as well as whole communities.
“I’m looking forward to leading the team and continuing the excellent work we do on a daily basis.”
Nicola’s team of staff and volunteers provide support on the ground during emergencies across Scotland, whether it is a fire in a family home or a large-scale national crisis.
This includes emotional and psychosocial support, humanitarian assistance and command, control and communications support.
