Relationships Scotland has announced the appointment of two new members to its leadership team.
The charity says this will strengthen its commitment to supporting families, couples and individuals across Scotland.
Nicola Watson joins as head of network services, while Jane Malcolm takes on the role of head of professional practice for child contact centres.
Relationships Scotland operates a network of 21 member services in communities all over Scotland, from the Borders to Shetland and the Western Isles, ensuring it is able to meet the needs of families across the country.
Both appointments bring extensive experience within the sector to the roles with Nicola having worked in secondary education for 25 years, and as a depute headteacher for the past 17 years. She has a passion for supporting children and young people, and their families.
As head of network services, Nicola’s role will encompass quality assurance of member services, ensuring that standards are consistently maintained across the network and the collection of annual statistics and data on client outcomes. Nicola (pictured above, right) is part of the Corporate Management Team. Outside of work, Nicola is a qualified beekeeper and enjoys skiing and cycling.
Jane (pictured above, left) has been in early learning and childcare for 27 years having worked as a childminder, nursery manager, further education and university lecturer and finally moving into the third sector advocating for nurseries and ensuring the rights of children and young people. Her role with Relationships Scotland will include overseeing the development of training, practice standards, and procedures.
She is also an accredited Scottish Athletics coach, a keen hill and marathon runner and has authored her own autobiography about life and 40 years of running.
