SCOTLAND WEBINAR: Mix 'n' match - UC when you're pension age
CPAG in Scotland
This event is in the past
UC is a working age benefit but some people over state pension age have to claim it. Before May 2019, if you were part of a couple where one was working age and the other pension age, you could choose to claim UC or pension credit and housing benefit. You no longer have that choice, but when and how these ‘mixed aged couple’ rules apply continues to cause confusion. In this webinar we will discuss:
When do mixed aged couple rules apply
Who might still benefit from savings provisions
What special rules apply to mixed aged couples
Maximising UC for mixed aged couples
Practical tactics and considerations when advising mixed aged couples
