This training is suitable for everyone who works with children, whether you work directly with children or indirectly in an administrative role. This training will provide you with an overview of what child protection is, what an individual and organisation’s roles and responsibilities are, and what steps to take should you feel a child is in danger.
Key learning
Developing an awareness of relevant legislation, including GIRFEC, Named Person and CYP Act, and define the role of the child protection agencies
Understanding the nature and classification of abuse
Exploring how concerns about abuse usually come to our attention and how they should be managed
Recognising the role of a designated person for child protection and internal and external referral procedure.
