Thank you for your interest in Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA). This training will be on Thursday(s) 5 & 12 November 2024, from 9.15 am to 4.45 pm each day.

About your Trainer:

Simon Miller has been delivering a range of mental health and suicide prevention training courses for several years. He delivers these to a wide range of Statutory, Third, Private and Education sector participants. As well as delivering courses that are overseen by Public Health Scotland, he has developed a number of bespoke learning events.

He has an extensive knowledge of local and national resources, as well as current debates, policies and developments in the field. Additionally, he has many years’ experience working in a range of mental health related roles. Most recently these included suicide prevention development work for Health in Mind, and prior to that coordinating a network of wellbeing services and resources in Midlothian in conjunction with multi-agency partners. He has also coordinated a network of services for children and young people with additional support needs in the Scottish Borders.
