Preparing for the Scottish Parliament elections: engage with the Electoral Commission’s consultations on non-party campaigning

The Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK, providing guidance on all aspects of the electoral process. Ahead of the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections, the Electoral Commission is hosting an engagement session for voluntary organisations, regarding two consultations they are running:

This session will help attendees to understand the purpose of the Code and guidance, their contents and how they apply to voluntary organisations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to verbally respond to the consultation during the session, and to ask questions. Questions can be submitted in advance by email to regulationconsultations@electoralcommission.org.uk.

Voluntary organisations’ feedback will be used to ensure the Electoral Commission’s guidance is as clear and helpful to users as possible.

Speakers:

  • Kelsey Gillies, Senior Officer Regulation and Campaigning (Scotland), the Electoral Commission
  • Sam Nicholson, Senior Regulatory Guidance Advisor, the Electoral Commission
