The group supports families who have lost their baby
Baby loss charity Simba has bolstered its board with the appointment of five new trustees.
The group supports families who have lost their baby and helps those grieving create precious moments to honour their memory.
Simba chair, Theresa Fyffe, said: "We warmly welcome our five new trustees into the Simba team, where people are at the heart of everything we do and we foster a supportive and inclusive enviornment.
"Collectively, they are bringing a broad range of skills and abilities to help us achieve our mission of supporting bereaved families in Scotland to honour and remember their precious babies, now and always."
Simba’s new trustees are:
Mark Graham
Mark is married and lives with his wife and daughter in Glasgow, and has several years’ experience within accountancy, working within both public and private accounting roles.
Having first become aware of Simba and the work it does following the loss of his first daughter in 2021, Mark is delighted to serve as a trustee and use his professional experience to contribute to Simba and the extremely important work they do for bereaved families.
Jonny Kermode
Jonny guides the family at design agency Fifth House. After studying design in Leeds, he cut his teeth with some of the world’s biggest brands as a creative at various agencies. Today, Jonny balances family life with business development and the odd Friday afternoon cycle ride.
Fran Snitjer
As the executive officer and EDI lead for a national governing body, Francesca brings to the board her experience in governance and affecting positive change. Her family were gifted a memory box from Simba in 2008 after her son, Noah, was stillborn. To give back and use her loss in a positive way to help and support other bereaved parents, Francesca subsequently volunteered for three years as a Simba support group facilitator.
Michael Scobbie
Michael has a decade of experience in communications, public affairs and marketing. He has led large-scale campaigns for public, private and third sector organisations. His son, Casper, was stillborn at 38+6 weeks.
Ali Defoy
Ali has worked in a variety of sectors over the past 20 years specialising in TV and radio broadcasting, in addition to business development and marketing roles with major sporting brands.
