Univerrsal credit and students
CPAG in Scotland
This event is in the past
With the introduction of universal credit, the benefit rules for students as we know them are swept away and new rules set up in their place. This ‘one-day equivalent’ course explains in detail which students can claim universal credit and how student funding affects the amount they get. It also covers particular problems to do with claiming universal credit and what to do about them.
The course covers:
• An overview of universal credit
• Who is a full-time student for universal credit
• Which students can claim and how to manage a claim
• The interaction with Scottish student funding – student loans, further education bursaries, discretionary funds and other funding
