SCVO Policy Network: top tips for influencing political party manifestos

SCVO

Work will soon begin on political party manifestos ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections and each will outline the policy commitments of the parties. Manifesto development provides an opportunity for your organisation to highlight the issues important to the communities you work with. By joining our session, you will gain an understanding of the overall manifesto process and insights into how to influence them. This is an opportunity to learn from Policy Network colleagues who will share their experiences of engaging with and influencing political party manifestos. There will also be opportunities to share your own experiences.

We will hear from Kim Atkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Sports Association and Duncan Thorp, Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Social Enterprise Scotland, who will share their insights into the process.
