CPAG in Scotland

You do not need to be a benefit expert to make a difference. This course is for anyone working with people in Scotland on low incomes or with additional needs. You will learn the basics of social security and be able to identify which benefits are available to the people you work with. You will understand the key life events that can have an impact on benefit entitlement and know how to signpost effectively for more advice and information.

The course covers:

The UK and Scottish social security systems

Universal credit

Disability and carers’ benefits

Scottish Welfare Fund grants

Signposting people for benefits advice and information

This course is aimed at advisers and support workers with no knowledge of benefits.
