Are you a professional, practitioner or volunteer who works with young people and families?

'Understanding Emotions and Anger' will introduce you to primary and secondary emotions, emotions we present and emotions we feel. It demonstrates how the process of anger works, its trigger, escalation, release, de-escalation and resolve. Understanding that anger is a normal human emotion and looking at self-awareness and tools we can use to identify emotions and regulate them.

Following the session, you will be able to:

- Understand and identify primary and secondary emotions and where anger sits in these

- Self-reflect on your own anger triggers and explore what might be behind the anger

- Describe the anger cycle

- Explore how to self-regulate for the purpose of managing and responding to emotions more effectively
